Bobby Deol Biography

Vijay Singh Deol, known to us as Bobby Deol was born on 27th January 1967. Being the Chota Puttar of Bollywood ka megastar Dharam Garam Dharmendra, a future in the film industry was quite obvious for the long haired stylish superstar Bobby Deol. His father planned a mega launch for him with Barsaat in 1995. The film was also a debut for the ravishing daughter of Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia – Twinkle Khanna. Unfortunately the film bombed at the box office but Bobby’s dreamy eyes, curly hairs and innocent smile was a hit in the hearts of thousands of Bollywood fans.

Bobby’s next release and perhaps one of his greatest hits came with one of the most successful murder mysteries of Bollywood “Gupt” which released after two years of Barsaat. The film made Bobby a hot property of Bollywood.

Bobby then again took a break from Bollywood to marry his heartthrob Tanya Ahuja. The marriage took place in presence of close family members and an army of bodyguards to keep the nosy photographers and the press at bay.

Bobby returned to the silver screen with another flop Kareeb in 1998, but soon followed it up with another biggie Soldier. His vengeful performance as Vicky/Raj Malhotra was really appreciated and loved by the audience. Bobby tried to repeat this performance with similar roles in Badal and Bichhoo but both gave quite abysmal results at the box office.

Another series of flops put a big question mark on the star status of the youngest Deol and the critics really made his life hell, but he again managed to turn out another hit – “Ajnabee” in 2001 and followed it with another hit “Himraaj’ the very next year. Unfortunately another dreadful run of flops started for Bobby. and he was slowly pushed towards the bottom of the list of superstars.

Meanwhile Bobby became a father when Tanya gave birth to a boy in 2001, who they named Aryaman. His second son was born on 5th November 2004. He was named after his grandfather Dharam.

Bobby’s most recent release is “Jhoom Barabar Jhoom”. The film also features megastars Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Preity Zinta. His next releases this year are Naquaab and Apne in which Bobby’s co-stars are his own father and brother.
