Akshaye Khanna biography

He has acted in more than 30 films in a decade’s time and still remains a striking name in the unending list of Hindi actors. Son of the legendary and stylish actor of the 70’s Vinod Khanna, Akshaye was launched in 1997 with "Himalayaputra" the film produced by his dad. Though the film failed at the box office, Akshaye was awarded as a promising new comer by Screen Awards.
Born on the 4rth April, 1975 in Mumbai, Akshay has a younger brother Rahul and a step sister Sakshi. He completed his schooling from Bombay International school, Mumbai and Lovedale School, Ooty. After graduating from HR College, Akshaye decided to follow his father’s footsteps and entered Bollywood.
The entire film fraternity was skeptical about Akshaye living up to his illustrious name, but luck was in his favor. One after another hit films poured into his kitty. "Aa Ab Laut Chalen", J.P. Dutta’s war epic "Border", Subhash Ghai’s musical "Taal" and Farhan Akhtar’s directional debut "Dil Chahta Hai", were among the top rated films of their times. Recent films like "Hungama", "36 China Town", "Hulchul", "Aap Ki Khatir" and "Salam e Ishq" have done moderately well too.
Akshaye has always tried to portray a different role in his every film. From the patriotic Dharamvir in "Border", to the villain Karan Malhotra in " Humraaz" to the top cop in "36 China Town", Akshaye has definitely come a long way from where he had begun as an actor.
People who know him say that Akshay is a very moody and unpredictable person. Though he is still single, he has no issues about it. Films and his work leave no time to mingle for this 5’9" tall guy.
For the time being, Akshaye is busy working for his upcoming projects "Aaja Nach Le", "Tashan", "When Kiran Met Karen" and "Shortcut". He has a lot of hopes from the recently released film "Naqaab". Time will tell how these films take Akshaye’s Careergraph.
