From “Ek Pardesi Mera Dil Le Gaya” to “Babuji” Sophie Chowdhury has come a long way in her career. First a VJ, then a singer and finally an actress, she is surely a multi-talented personality. With a well chiseled body, and an impressive smile, Sophie has definitely made way into the hearts of millions of viewers.
Not many know that Sophie was a part of the all girl band “Sansara”, while still in her teens in London. She was always inclined towards the glamour world and was determined to make her way into the Hindi film industry.
Being fluent in languages like Hindi, English, Italian and French and a trained Bharatnatyam and Kathak dancer has always been an asset for the suave and sexy Sophie.
She began as a veejay in MTV and got attention almost immediately. Sophie began her musical career with the famous album “Baby Doll”. She was famous almost overnight with remix songs like “Mere Piya Gaye Rangoon” and the likes. This is one actress who believes that dancing is the secret behind her fitness.
As an actress in Bollywood, Sophie debuted with director David Dhawan’s “Shaadi No. 1”. She was also seen playing “baby doll vol 3” in the recently released “Pyaar Ke Side Effects”. Sources say that she is one woman who can make Mallika Sherawat insecure.
Sophie’s last release has been the Arjun Rampal starrer “I See You”, which released in December last year, where she again plays a very small role of a veejay, Dilnaz Boga.
Though Sophie hasn’t really been successful in her filmy career, she believes in taking one step at a time. Although she has been offered quite a few films, she wants to do roles that have something meaningful to add to the film.
With the way her career is shaping up, Sophie is content and hopeful that one day she will definitely reach where she wants, on the top. She is currently doing Sanjay Gupta’s “Alibaug”. She is extremely optimistic and we hope the best for her.
